For publishers
The platform
Buylined is a marketplace that connects verified human experts with publishers who need a real editorial signature. You book an expert to review and endorse an article you already have — then you publish under Reviewed by or Written by, with proof of their approval.
Publishers of niche sites, affiliate blogs, media, ecommerce content and agencies who need E-E-A-T they can defend. Experts are retired professionals, niche creators and practitioners with a real trail — not stock-photo “authors”.
No. One account can be a publisher, an expert, or both. You switch workspaces when you need to. Earnings and publisher credits stay in separate wallets on that same account.
The product interface is English and French. Experts set the languages they actually work in (an expert can review English, French, or both). Spanish is not offered yet.
The catalogue
After you sign in, confirm your email, add a website and get it verified, and accept the publisher terms. You then filter by vertical, language, market and rate. The directory is not a public listing.
Orders are tied to a real site you control. We check that you can publish there before you can book. You pick the target site on each order — the expert sees that domain, not your company name.
Each expert sets their own rates. What you pay is that rate plus 20%. You can view the catalogue in USD, CAD or EUR. If the expert’s billing currency differs from yours, we convert at the day’s rate plus a small buffer (about 3%). At booking, the rate is locked in your billing currency.
A simple track record on the expert’s profile: completed bylines, how often they answer on time, and social shares they actually posted. A refusal rate is shown separately and does not drag the score down — a legitimate refusal is part of the product.
Offers
Your team writes the article. The expert reviews it, corrects it and endorses it. You publish a Reviewed by byline and host the author kit yourself. This is the core offer.
The piece goes out under the expert’s authorship — the strongest signature. They still review and must approve it before it ships. They do not draft the article. Written by is priced by the expert, usually above Reviewed by.
You send 10 to 15 questions — no article. The expert writes long answers; those answers can be the piece. They are interviewed, not signed as author. You still receive portrait and bios to present the interviewed expert. The certificate covers the answers and the right to publish their name, portrait and biography.
Not in Reviewed by or Written by: the expert validates, corrects and signs a draft you already have. Buylined does not sell ghostwriting. The optional anecdote is lived-experience text written during review. Article interview is different: the expert answers your questions, and those answers can form the article — still without an authorship byline.
Priced by each expert. A personal anecdote at the end of the article (Reviewed by and Written by). A mini-interview of exactly five questions at the end of a Reviewed by piece — you can stack it with the anecdote. A social share on a network they have verified (any offer). You only see networks they actually offer.
An expert cannot sign an unlimited volume. The platform cap is 20 Reviewed by, 10 Written by and 10 Article interview per calendar month. Experts may set lower personal caps. Remaining slots are shown on the profile — scarcity is intentional.
Orders
You pick an expert, an offer and add-ons, and submit to a verified site. For Reviewed by and Written by you write or paste the article and declare image rights. For Article interview you send 10 to 15 questions only. Credits are reserved. The expert then approves, answers, asks for changes, proposes edits, or refuses.
You can resubmit at most twice (three versions in total). After that the expert must approve or refuse. If they send a diff, you can accept it (the version locks) or send the article back.
The expert has 72 hours to make a first response. If they ask for changes, you have 14 days to resubmit. If they propose edits, you also have 14 days to accept or send it back. Silence on either side releases the reserved credits and the slot.
The order ends, credits return to your wallet, and the slot is freed. You can book the same expert again or choose someone else. They may also make themselves unavailable to your account if the relationship is a poor fit.
Yes — each order has a thread. Keep it on the work. Contact details meant to take the collaboration off-platform are filtered.
No. They see the website the article will live on, the draft, and your TrustEditor record. Your publisher identity stays off their screens — including the certificate.
Payments
You buy prepaid credits by card (Stripe). Packs or a custom amount, in your billing currency. Credits are only for booking on Buylined. They cannot be withdrawn as cash.
Buylined is the merchant of record. You buy from us, not from the expert. The 20% is our commission on top of the expert’s rate. Invoices are issued by Iguane Media Inc.
At submission we reserve the full amount (offer + add-ons). On approval we capture the base offer and the anecdote. If the order is refused or expires, the reserve returns to your wallet. A social-share add-on stays reserved until that share is done, refunded, or timed out.
You pick one billing currency (USD, CAD or EUR, among others). It locks as soon as money has moved on the account, so a wallet never mixes currencies.
After approval
A timestamped approval, a certificate (hash, site, attribution type — not your name), and an author kit: portrait to host, bios, byline block and JSON-LD to paste. Everything is meant to live on your domain.
No. There is no Buylined footprint on the published page — no public expert profile to point to, no hosted widget. You host the photo and the byline. Reusing the kit on another article or site is not allowed.
So the expert (and the record) know where the byline went live. It must stay on the site you booked. Confirmation is not what pays the expert — they are already credited at approval — but it completes the byline history and any social-share add-on.
After you confirm the URL, the expert has 7 days to post and paste the share URL. You then have 72 hours to flag a problem (with a reason). If you stay silent, the add-on is credited. If the article URL is never confirmed within 30 days, or the expert never shares, that add-on is refunded to your credits.
For experts
Becoming an expert
People with real experience in a vertical — career practitioners, retired specialists, niche creators — who can prove who they are. You choose up to three domains of expertise. You are only bookable in those domains.
An identity document, a dated selfie, and the social profiles you claim. We check that the three line up. After approval, the ID copy is deleted; we keep the attestation that you were verified. Unverified profiles do not appear in the catalogue.
Yes. Same account, two workspaces. Expert earnings can be transferred 1:1 into publisher credits on that account, with no cash-out fee.
Profile and rates
You set Reviewed by, Written by and Article interview freely, in your billing currency. You can also price an anecdote, a mini-interview (Reviewed by only), and each social network you have verified. Change a rate whenever you like — there are no promo codes in V1.
One currency for offers, wallet and withdrawals — the one on your billing profile, not the country on your expert card. A Canadian expert can bill in USD. You must fill billing (including currency) before offers go live. It locks after the first money movement.
A short headline for the catalogue, a career summary, optional signature notes (what you will not sign), and publication bios. If you work in more than one language, you fill those texts in each language. Publishers see the copy in their interface language when you have provided it.
No. Catalogue and profiles sit behind login. Your portrait is delivered in the kit for the publisher to host on their site — Buylined does not serve a public expert page.
Reviewing articles
Not for Reviewed by or Written by: the publisher submits a draft; you review, correct and approve. Written by is a full authorship signature, not a writing assignment. The optional anecdote is lived-experience text written during review. For Article interview you answer 10 to 15 questions — you are interviewed, you do not take an authorship byline.
72 hours to a first response on a new submission. After that the order expires, credits go back to the publisher, and your on-time record takes a hit. If you ask for changes or send a diff, the publisher has 14 days.
Approve it (with the certificate), ask the publisher to revise, send your own edits as a diff, or refuse with a reason. For Reviewed by, your corrections are the service. After two publisher resubmissions you must approve or refuse.
A short personal passage you write yourself during review — not generated by AI. You tick that it is original. It is inserted at the end of the article. The publisher may adjust the form, not the meaning. If you only ask for a rewrite, the anecdote waits for the next round.
No. You see the site domain, the article, image-origin declarations, and TrustEditor. Messages, the order, and the certificate never name the client — only the website.
An editorial approval and attribution certificate for that order: you, the site, Reviewed by, Written by or interview answers, a SHA-256 hash, dates. Your express consent is recorded; it is not printed on the document. The publisher cannot issue it in your place. On Article interview the certificate covers the answers and the right to publish your name, portrait and biography.
Getting paid
When you approve. You are credited the full rate you set (gross) in your billing currency. You do not carry FX risk. A social-share add-on is credited later, after the post and a short window with no dispute.
Bank transfer or PayPal, from methods you save in settings (each change is confirmed by email code). There is a minimum by currency. One cash withdrawal per calendar month, paid between the 1st and the 10th of the following month.
Your listed price is what hits the wallet. Fees apply only when you cash out: 10% on a bank transfer. PayPal adds 2.5% on the remaining 90%. We show the recap before you confirm. The amount that lands on your bank or PayPal can still differ slightly because of the provider’s own fees or conversion.
Yes. Transfer to publisher credits on the same account is 1:1, 0%, immediate, with no monthly quota. Those credits cannot be turned back into cash.
Buylined, as merchant of record (Iguane Media Inc.). Experts sign a self-billing mandate at the first withdrawal; each payout reconfirms it. You get a document for the amount Buylined actually pays out.
Limits and trust
Maximum 20 Reviewed by, 10 Written by and 10 Article interview per calendar month, unless you set a lower personal cap. A slot is reserved at submission and consumed when you approve. Refusal or expiry frees it.
It starts at a neutral score and moves with completed bylines, on-time first answers, and completed social shares. A late first response or an unanswered expiry hurts it. Your refusal rate is visible but not scored — refusing a weak article is allowed.
Yes, if the fit is wrong. They will simply see that you are not available for their account. You can also open a support ticket from the workspace.
